The VEN Communication Internship offers an immersive, field-based experience for emerging storytellers, journalist, photographer, conservationist, and communication students who want to use creative media for environmental impac.

​Interns will join Viet Endangered Narratives (VEN):

  • A conservation storytelling enterprise - to coordinate events, monitor volunteers, lead activities, and produce multimedia content that inspires action

EXPERIENCE INTERNSHIP
General Overview:

📌 Location: Danang

  • Welcome meeting with VEN

  • Orientation & Ethical storytelling

  • Field work & Photography

  • Build personal learning goal plan

  • Introduction to internal communication workflow

Week 2:

  • Join a volunteer field activity

  • Practice documenting

  • Learn how to prepare interview questions

  • Conduct simple interviews

  • Practice writing captions

Week 1:

  • Photo field assignment

  • Learn visual narrative structure

  • Edit photos for clarity, Color, tone

  • Create captions for the website

  • Introduction to canva for graphic design

  • Plan a short video portrait

  • Set up and conduct an interview

  • Learn basic editing

  • Create short reels

  • Write video titles & thumbnails

Week 5:

  • Research scientific facts

  • Identify target audience

  • Draft campaign pillars

  • Create poster concept

  • Write a full educational article

Week 7:

  • Produce final educational video

  • Design posters

  • Write storytelling bilingual captions

  • Finalize campaign article

  • Design wildlife postcards

Week 6:

  • Join another volunteer event

  • Document story’s from participants

  • Evaluate previous content

  • Rewrite a story ethically

  • Document eco-printing content

Week 8:

  • Choose capstone

  • Refine content

  • Prepare final portfolio

  • Write reflection blog

  • Prepare assets for publication

  • Choose a documentary topic

  • Research story angles

  • Build documentary outline

  • Create shot list and interview list

  • Feedback session with mentor on narrative clarity

  • Film interviews with conservation actors

  • capture environmental scenes

  • Collect field sounds

  • Draft narration or key text

  • Design full set of assets

  • Coordinate posting schedule

  • Engage with audience

  • Document campaign process
