Program Cost Includes accommodation, meals, training, field trips, and production support.
This 3 Days immersive experience equips volunteers with the skills to become conservation storytellers while contributing to wildlife education and biodiversity awareness.
Volunteers will learn:

Wildlife Photography Theory & Conservation Storytelling – ethical photography practices, conservation messaging, and responsible wildlife engagement.

Hands-on Field Experience - Photography four key groups of wildlife:
-
Primate & Terrestrial Mammals – douc langurs, macaques, and other monkeys
-
Insects & Small Creatures - capturing macro shots of Vietnam’s incredible insect diversity
-
Marine Life - underwater filming of coral reefs, seagrass habitats, and ocean biodiversity
-
Birds - documenting bird behaviors, flight patterns, and their role in the ecosystem
-
Editing & Post-Production – creating a short conservation documentary
By the end of the program, volunteers will produce a wildlife short photo presentation that will be added to Danang’s Biodiversity Data Page and contribute to local educational programs.
Program Schedule: 3 Days Learning
& Fieldwork Experience
Day 1: Welcome & Introduction

Volunteers arrive and are welcomed by VEN staff.

Transfer to VEN’s Volunteer House.

Choose your program:
Douc Guardians (Forest trekking & primate tracking).
Underwater Explorers (Coastal & marine biodiversity).
Nightlife Seekers (Nocturnal wildlife & camera trapping).

Conservation storytelling discussion.
-
Introduction to camera equipment & safety briefing.
Group dinner with the VEN team.
Day 2 FULL EXPLORATION DAY
Choose your track — each offers deep exploration
Douc Guardians:
Sunrise forest trek in Son Trà.
Observe red-shanked doucs, birds, butterflies.
Guided photo sessions & composition tips.
Lunch at the house.
Afternoon creative storytelling discussion at VEN.
Underwater Explorers:
Early morning - Kajarking to Hon Sup.
Marine life observation: coral, fish, sea grass, etc.
Guided underwater photography (underwater cam provided).
Lunch at the house.
Visual storytelling.
Nightlife Seekers:
Slow morning & photography editing session Night camera trapping.
Hike in Son Trà forest Observe owls, reptiles, and insect life.
Learn about behavior patterns & threats to night species.
Return Late night to Volunteer House.
Day 3: FINAL EDITS & STORY SHARING
Creative studio: finalize photo/video.
Optional editing support from VEN team.
Share your piece with the group.
Publish your work with VEN support (social media or exhibition).
Receive certificate of participation.
Depart by noon.

Accommodation & Training Facilities
🏡 VEN Volunteer House:

Volunteers stay at the VEN & C4C Volunteer House, a welcoming community space.

The VEN office & training center is located on the first floor.
-
Volunteers share the house with participants from other VEN and Catalyst for Change (C4C) programs,
-
allowing for cultural exchange.
-
Enjoy evenings at the beach, home-cooked meals, and explore Danang!
Optional Volunteer Engagement Activities
In addition to the wildlife photography program, volunteers can join various conservation and community events:

Beach Clean-Ups – protect marine biodiversity.
-
Wildlife Awareness Campaigns – educate tourists on ethical interactions with wildlife.

Social Impact Activities by Catalyst for Change (C4C) – including Hope Express, Voices of Resilience, Global Connect, Cooking Class, etc.
These activities are optional, and volunteers can participate in any event happening during their stay.

Volunteer Requirements

Passion for wildlife, filmmaking, and conservation.

Should bring a camera if they have one (DSLR, mirrorless, action camera, or high-quality smartphone).

Basic knowledge of photography & video recording is a plus.

Respect for ethical wildlife filming & conservation values.

Ability to hike and carry filming equipment in the field.
